First Hawk - Poplar wood - A

Our First Hawk flute in the key of 'A' minor is handcrafted from a single piece of Poplar wood (also known as Yellow Poplar) which is grown domestically and very sustainable. This is the ideal flute for any first time player because of its length, finger-hole size, body diameter, and price, all of which makes this an excellent flute choice for any new player.

The flute's characteristics supports new players by allowing them to easily enjoy the process of learning while also building the foundational skills needed to play larger and more deep-toned flutes.

This flute is tuned to the key of A minor, this flute can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of C, and it plays beautifully with all of our other flutes in the key of “A”.

The First Hawk is a 6-hole flute but we provide a leather cover for the 3rd hole from the top (known as the 6th hole) to give the option of playing it as a 5-hole flute, which is simpler to play.

This wooden flute is 17.6 inches (44,45 cm) long.

Each flute includes a FREE printed instructional booklet with fingering charts as well as an overview of the FREE High Spirits digital library and YouTube channel, filled with an extensive collection of 'how to play' videos, including new player flute lessons, instruction for intermediate & advanced players, as well as a wide range of videos focused on tips and techniques for understanding and mastering the High Spirit flutes.
